Paz On Earth, Part II

Hello hello. I blogged a few months ago about Giuliano's underwater shoot with the beautiful Paz Vega. Here are two of our favorite shots from that day:

Simply breathtaking....especially considering Ms. Vega was taking no breaths while we were shooting.
Ha!

Special thanks to makeup artist Anthony Merante, stylist Anita Patrickson and assistant Jesse Selchow for creating such beautiful looks!

Natural Born Athlete

This past spring Giuliano came up with the concept of 'natural born athletes'--Herculean creatures hatched from the wombs of Nike and Adidas with innate abilities to pitch no-hitters and dunk basketballs.

First shot in a dried out lake bed, Giuliano and our crew later recreated the cracked mud surface in our studio. It was a very fun, very cool shoot.

Happy Holidays Part II

Because we are just so festive here at the studio, here's another holiday shout out.

We wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!

Merry ChristmaHannuKwanzaakah to all of you!

We celebrated yesterday with a heavenly coffee-infused chocolate Buche de Noël from Susina Bakery, which is conveniently (and dangerously) located just below our studio. The smell of fresh croissants wafts up through the building's vents every morning, and every afternoon we catch whiffs of molten chocolate cakes.

Now that the holiday season has arrived, there's no excuse not to indulge. I, for one, am breaking out my elastic waistbanded pants. Not exactly the most fashion forward look, but we must be practical in this economy, no?

Anyways, happy holidays to all of you. And eat some buche.

Jessica Alba Cover and Editorial Officially Posted!

Check out the full editorial of Giuliano's work with Harper's Bazaar Australia!

Apparently there's an article about some actress too.

Just kidding, Jessica. You're amazing!

How Bazaar

Somehow the big bad blogosphere got a hold of the Jessica Alba cover Giuliano shot for the January issue of Harper's Bazaar Australia. It's all over the internet!

Though it's still winter for us up here in the northern hemisphere, the Aussies are washing away their midsummer post-holiday blues in the swimming pool. If you want in on the action, make sure to buy the issue and check out the rest of G's editorial!

Special thanks to Harper's and the lovely Jessica Alba, who's hot enough to melt away anyone's winter blues.

Zumanity, Cirque du Soleil

Last week, our crew had the pleasure of traveling to Vegas to shoot a new ad campaign for Cirque du Soleil's sexiest show, Zumanity. Featuring a cast of acrobats, contortionists, aerialists, and dancers scantily clad in original Thierry Mugler designs, Zumanity is part circus, part cabaret, and a whole lot of naughty fun.

Though I can't publish the images Giuliano took until the campaign has been released, you can sneak a peak at photos from the show's website.

In addition to inviting us to view and shoot Zumanity, Cirque du Soleil's amazing creative team treated us to viewings of KaO, and Viva Elvis (which I hope to be posting about from the inside in the near future...) They were all unbelievable--giant shadow puppets, 60-foot high dives into the stage, trampoline flying--how does Cirque come up with these ideas?

But back to my point.
Keep your eyes peeled for the new advertisements (I assure you, they will be hard to miss), and if you find yourself in Vegas and are over the age of 18, buy some tickets for Zumanity.

Just make sure you wear protection.

Paz On Earth

This past Saturday, Giuliano staged an underwater photo shoot with the exquisite Paz Vega. It was a damp, cold day, but Ms. Vega was a phenomenal model and a great sport, and G captured some truly fantastic images. We cannot wait to share them with all of you.

While we are editing the photos from this past weekend, I thought I'd tide you over with some images Giuliano shot of Paz for FHM last spring. Enjoy, and check back soon for updates.

Exclusive: Milo suits up...

The exclusive, behind-the-scenes video of Giuliano's shoot for Prestige Hong Kong is now finished and I couldn't resist sharing. Milo is a very dapper, photogenic guy; I hope you enjoy watching it.

Viva Italia

Some of my crew took behind the scenes photos of yesterday's incredible Martini Rossi shoot, and I thought I'd share some with you. It threatened to rain all day, but luckily we "weathered the storm" and had a very easy, very fun day on the Universal lot. We shot on European St., and worked hard to create an authentic Italian flower shop, bread shop and cafe.

We had Vespa's, Italian officers and pigeons roaming the streets. We even built a beautiful interior room at the foot of a great Roman facade in Spartacus Square, where our models sipped bubbly as though at a holiday party. Such is the beauty of creating, but to do it in the heart of such an unreal place is indescribable.
It's all in the details.

Kurt, a member of the camera crew,
looked every bit the part of an Italian baker
when he stepped up to the plate
and served as an extra.
An exterior interior,
built and dressed by Eddie Inda and his crew.

Feeling Gleeful

This past week Giuliano has been doing some shoots for his upcoming book. I'll get some images up soon. However, I was going back through some of his past shoots, and I came across these great photos Giuliano shot of Matthew Morrison last year in New York. There were so many great images, I thought it would be fun to show you a few the magazine didn't print.

Iron Maiden

Speaking of FHM, I shot Olivia Munn for the German edition of the magazine. Out July 2010, it was for the promotion of Iron Man 2. She's a gorgeous girl on and off camera.

Peter Facinelli Steps Up to Bat for FHM

We shot Peter Facinelli for FHM's August Issue - hope you all got a copy.  The baseball themed photo shoot was inspired by his character, Carlisle Cullen's "Rainy Baseball" scene in the Twilight movie. Great guy, a lot of fun. Here are some pics you didn't see

Just Like Honey...

A few weeks ago I shot I video for R&B artist Honey La Rochelle. Not only is the song bound to be a HUGE hit, she was also a pleasure to work with. Keep an eye out for the "Work It Out" video. For now though, enjoy this little Q&A with Miss Honey:
When you’re not in the studio where can we find you?

At an airport! I'm always goin somewhere... When I'm in LA i'm still learning the city, but when I'm in NY I'm all over the place.

What’s something you can’t live without backstage?

Can't live without water backstage...I'm wanted to give some rockstar crazy answer but the truth is: WATER, the fluid of life, is my one basic necessity.  I would love to one day have a piano backstage and gorgeous man in boxer briefs with massage oils, but in the meantime, water!...and a vanity ;)

What musicians have influenced you over your career?

First and foremost, my mother! After that Lauren Hill has been very influential, and a lot of male artists like Maxwell, Marvin, Stevie, Prince...And I've had the luck and honor of having up close and personal experiences with Ms. Roberta Flack, Macy Gray, Joss Stone and N'dea Davenport, each of whom have taught many many things over the years.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be now?

Hmmmmm well i wonder if that's possible even??  I would maybe be teaching, I actually got hired as an assistant math teacher when I was in college.  I'm really good at math and science.  I find physics fascinating soooo maybe i'd be doing something in that industry?  or maybe I would be the owner of a titty bar chain called the "Honey House"....Well that might still actually happen! LOL (Name copyrighted 2009-patent pending, don't try and jack me fool)

Can you cook?

Yeah I can cook, but bachalorette style.  I'm the queen of the foreman grill and the rice cooker. I like having food ready already, I don't like to wait for it when I want it.  I love leftovers. I make a MEAN spaghetti, and a mean vegetarian chili.  Those are always good ever-ready meals you can make once and eat 3 or 4 times.  Me likey :)

HEROES

This weekend I had a supernatural experience as I shot HERO Milo Ventimiglia for Prestige Magazine. Styled and produced by Paris Libby, Milo was able to take on the character of a posh gentlemen at an Italian Villa easily (a little nod to his Peter Petrelli character's mimicking abilities, wink wink). Here's a little taste of the upcoming editorial:

Michael Stars Shoot/Baby Sea Lion Release

In OTHER news, we just wrapped the Michael Stars Spring 2011 campaign. Not only did we all get to spend a fun day at the beach, but we also worked with San Pedro's Marine Mammal Center to release four baby sea lions, at the same time as the shoot. This video really captures how incredible the whole thing was:

Guy Pt. II - "Wildlife"

Photos from Day 2 of my shoot. It was 17 hours of total madness. We had Noogie Thai and Judd Minter creating the most insane hair, banging out look after look until past 10pm!

There were tarantulas, scorpions & snakes, and clearly Aussie Buck Palmer had no problem making friends with the little guys..

Today we are shooting the Pt. III - photos to be posted Monday. Regardless, enjoy a few more and have a fabulous weekend.

Guys Pt. I - Hats and Clay

Victor Ross (L.A. Models)

There seems like no better way to start this blog then on my birthday. Yes, today is my birthday and to celebrate I am giving myself the best present possible. A full day shoot to complete my upcoming book. Today 25 guys are coming in. Anthony Merante is doing some crazy makeup and Anita Patrickson, our UK-import stylist for the shoot, has put together some amazing costumes. Behind the scenes pics coming soon... but for now check out these pictures from Part I of last week's shoot.
Benjamin Patterson got to spa as he worked - Anthony painted his full body in a clay face mask to achieve his scaly look

The shoot itself encompassed several different stories, but my two favorites were the Body Painting story (just above) and the Hat Story (below).  The body painting involved a LOT of baby oil, glitter and even clay. Anita stayed up with her assistant Jesse until 4am the night before making these hats (Thanks Anita!). Seeing these manly guys sitting so prim & proper in such extravagant hats.. It was really surreal. Check out Carter C. from Wilhelmenia - I love this shot.

Special thanks to Philip Solomon and Adele Satori at Way2Much Entertainment for hooking us up today with some incredible props. I'll post the pics from today SOON. Get ready - it's gonna be sick..
Blake Kneisley (Vision Models) let off a little steam after a LONG day of work.
